Clean beaches

Take care of Menorca as if it were your own home

Keeping the beaches clean requires the work of many people, and the collaboration of each individual is essential.

Avoid leaving waste

It is essential that we avoid leaving trash on the sand, on the rocks, or in the sea.

How? By taking our waste with us off the beach and throwing it into the corresponding paper, glass, or plastic and can containers.

The presence of bins on the beaches carries a risk we want to avoid: they can be emptied by the wind or other factors and thus become a source of dirt and pollution. And that is exactly what we don’t want!

You will now find the containers in the parking areas.

Awareness

Nowadays, we are increasingly aware of the environment, and we can find different associations in which you can collaborate, such as Per la mar viva or the GOB with its Marilles program, which watch over the health of the sea regarding plastics, pollution, and selective fishing.

Micro-looting

It is important not to take sand, stones, etc. from the beaches and coves as a “souvenir”, or apply clay or mud to your body, as these micro-looting practices severely erode the ecosystem of these beaches and coves.

Furthermore, these materials may be seized from you at Mahón airport since they are not allowed in luggage for security reasons; last year, more than a ton was confiscated.
