Where it is: <\/strong>Menorca is an island paradise located in the center of the Western Mediterranean<\/strong>, and is part of the archipelago of the Balearic Islands<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Inhabitants:<\/strong> It has a population of 98,348 inhabitants<\/strong>, divided into. 8<\/strong> towns <\/strong><\/a>the capital is Mah\u00f3n<\/strong><\/a> in the east of the island, which together with Ciudadela <\/strong><\/a>in the west, are the most populated municipalities of the island.<\/span><\/p>\n

It has an area<\/strong> of 702 square kilometers <\/strong>and 216 kilometers of coastline<\/strong> that give a lot, surrounded by beaches and <\/strong><\/a>coves<\/a> <\/strong>paradisiacal beaches and coves, natural reserves <\/strong><\/a>and a multitude of archaeological remains <\/strong><\/a>the island is rich in geological, cultural and patrimonial diversity. <\/span><\/p>\n

Landscape and geology<\/span><\/h2>\n

The North (Tramuntana)<\/strong> is formed by small hills, separated by wide valleys, in which superb beaches open up, such as La Vall<\/strong><\/a>,<\/span> Cala Pregonda<\/a><\/strong>, <\/span>Binimel.la<\/a><\/strong>, the lighthouse of <\/span>Cap de Fav\u00e0ritx<\/strong><\/a> etc..<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

On the other hand, the south (migjorn)<\/strong>, is a limestone platform, crossed from north to south, by narrow ravines that lead to tourist beaches such as; Cala Galdana<\/a><\/strong>, Cala’n Porter<\/a><\/strong> and undeveloped coves such as Son Saura, Cala Turqueta<\/a><\/strong>, Cala Macarella <\/a><\/strong>etc.<\/span><\/p>\n

The highest point<\/strong> is the “mountain” of Monte Toro<\/a> <\/strong>(El Toro) with 358 meters of altitude, from its top you can see the whole island.<\/span><\/p>\n

There is a monastery where the patron saint of Menorca, “la Mare de deu del Toro”, spiritual reference of the Menorcans, is venerated.<\/span><\/p>\n

The island’s climate<\/strong><\/a> is typically Mediterranean, with mild and pleasant temperatures most of the year. Menorca is characterized by strong winds from the north, the “tramuntana<\/strong><\/a>” which is more present especially in the winter months. <\/span><\/p>\n

Each year, about 1.5 million tourists visit the island, mainly during the summer months. The majority of visitors are from the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Italy and Spain.
