therefore, the increase in activity in recent years may jeopardize this legacy. <div class=\"g g-5\"><div class=\"g-single a-68\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.civitatis.com\/en\/mahon\/mahon-free-tour\/?aid=99960\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">\r\n    <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.viajamenorca.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/INGLES_ROSE-7-1.jpg\" width=\"350\" height=\"210\" title=\"Free tour of Mah\u00f3n\" alt=\"Free tour of Mah\u00f3n\" \/>\r\n<\/a><\/div><\/div><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">The monuments are the material testimony of our historical memory and form part of the identity marks, not only of Menorca but also of Europe.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.viajamenorca.com\/en\/tourist-guide\/routes-and-itineraries\/menorca-talayotic\/\"><strong>archaeological monuments<\/strong><\/a> (navetas, talayots, taulas, etc.) and also ethnological ones (huts, dry stone walls, threshing floors, stables, etc.) are unique, but also very fragile.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-size: 18pt;\">Tips and recommendations<\/span><\/h2>\n<h3><span style=\"font-size: 13pt;\">We recommend following these recommendations during visits to the island&#8217;s heritage sites.<\/span><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">In the Balearic Islands, it is <strong>prohibited<\/strong> by law to use <strong>metal detectors<\/strong> at archaeological sites, and also in those areas where the existence of a buried site is suspected. <strong>This action is penalized with significant fines.<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Ancient <strong>shipwreck remains<\/strong> on the coasts of Menorca are also extremely important elements for researching our history; these<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"> maintain the <strong>same protection as land-based archaeological sites<\/strong>, and should only be handled by specialists with the proper authorization.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">If you happen to find archaeological remains, either on land or in the sea, contact the nearest town hall or the Island Council of Menorca (Consell Insular de Menorca).<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Most of our archaeological heritage is located in rural areas;
