Cala’n Forcat

Cala’n Forcat is a beautiful beach located on the west west coast coast of the island, concretely in the urbanization of Los delfines, about 5 km from Ciutadella. It is uone of the most popular corners of the island.

Small beach ideal for the whole family

Cala en Forcat is a small semi-urban beach of fine white sand, ideal for those seeking a more intimate atmosphere. In addition, its waters are shallow, calm and crystal clear, making it a safe option for families with small children.

The beach is surrounded by rocky cliffs and lush vegetation, making it especially picturesque. Visitors can enjoy panoramic views of the sea and natural landscapes while relaxing on the beach.

In addition to sunbathing and swimming in its crystal clear waters, you can enjoy a wide variety of activities, including activities in the area, such as snorkeling or scuba diving, as its crystal clear waters are perfect for exploring the rich marine life of the area. You can also enjoy water activities such as paddle surfing or kayaking.

The urbanization has a wide range of services, including rental of umbrellas and sun loungers, as well as several bars, restaurants and hotels where you can enjoy drinks and snacks while contemplating the breathtaking ocean view.

Archaeological site

On the beach you can see some cavities in the form of arches that are part of an archaeological site of Hellenistic culture, whose date of origin is estimated between the 5th and 3rd centuries B.C., although it has never been excavated to confirm the period with precision.

Some experts believe that these chapels could be connected to several late Roman or medieval tombs, which are also found in the same site. However, an excavation is necessary to confirm the chronology and establish their exact relationship.

Tips and recommendations

  • Besides being able to park on the streets of the urbanization, you will also find a free parking that is a few meters from the descent to the beach.
  • In high season, the beach can be very crowded, arrive early.
  • Please note that there are no danger signs or lifeguard post, so follow the beach safety recommendations.
  • If you like photography, don’t forget to bring your cell phone or camera, you will be able to take great pictures.
  • At the end of the day, you can enjoy one of the most beautiful sunsets, as well as a beautiful sunset.

How to get to Cala’n Forcat

Access by car: from Ciutadella take the road towards Cala en Blanes then follow until the urbanization Los Delfines. Follow the signs to Cala’n Forcat. The beach has a free parking.

Access by bus: TMSA line 61 operates from Ciutadella to Cala’n Forcat.
